All right, since there was a slight discussion in one of my previous posts about what's the purpose of all this and this huge investment I'm doing on learning to fly abroad, I could resume it in saying that this is a childhood dream. If this passion to fly could turn into my profession, that would be living this dream as an everyday reality. Since many young boys have the same dream of flying, I found it useful to build this blog, and tell my readers about my story and what I am doing to try to achieve that dream. If this could help anyone who have also the dream of being a pilot succeed too, so I made my part of making someone happy and also contributed to the aviation world. It's also a pleasure to me to help someone get into this little world of aviators, that is something so difficult to achieve in our days. I found it also very motivating to tell my readers a little about my personal story: how I was initiated into the aviation world, how everything started, until my first solo on a Cessna 152. So I made a little movie, I think that was the more efficient way to tell a little story. Comments and questions are welcome, specially if it might interest and help other readers. Enjoy it!
Here is a little observation to my israeli readers: all the pictures of the planes, including tail numbers, were taken from the internet.

:-) Awesome. Couldn't chose a better song. I was also up in the air today. Such a joy. And a question: I saw you have already done your first solo in Israel. Did you complete your PPL also? Or did you just continued up to the solo? How does it fit in with your current course?
Very nice. It seems like you've been hit hard by the fact that you were kicked out of Israeli Air Force flight school. Did you know that you can volunteer to the American Air Force or Navy? Not too late to try.... They fly faster than a Boeing 747...
I finished my PPL in Israel, took some months of break, and then came here to continue. And about flying in the Navy or USAF, you can only volunteer if you are an US citizen and must have been living here for many years. And besides all, I don't really want to fly on the military to any other country rather than IAF... And since I'm not in the military anymore, I guess I'll stick with the boeings!
I think you have mistaken what I said, so in order to clarify the message I will attempt at this again. My father, mother and uncle were/are pilots. When I was 17 I received my private pilot license in the US after graduating from high school in Israel. I went to one of the academies in the states and when I was 22 I was hired by one of the regionals to fly the ERJ's. My pay first year was about $23K I went four stripes at the end of year two with a pay of $40K I was then invited to interview with LY by a very close friend in management and I failed my 2nd stage interview. I went back to the US to fly and I had it rough trying to pay back my student loans, mind you I have a BA that I could have gone and worked in any field I desired but, as you I decided to have an office in the sky. Last year I was invited back by the lovely woman in LY HR (her name will remain anonymous) and I past all stages, I trained on the 747-400, but do to "scheduling conflictions" I have been moved to the 737 which I prefer (home every day). --- I too gave up a lot to fly, I was accepted into 3 medical schools in the NY area prior to joining LY I could have made a lot more money if I would have chosen what my family wants me to do, but, I want to do what I want and what makes me happy! --- My questioning to you was from the very beginning and yes I understand your Israeli "defensive" and "skeptic" attitude towards me an outsider who made it to LY (BTW, three American pilots (Jews) were hired by LY in the past 3 years) are you ready for a long road full of hardships, living on the very bare minimums for the next 3-5 years till you are ready to be hired by LY? (if you can get in). If you were a woman I would tell you just get your inst, comm and ME ratings and apply at LY as one of my class mates at LY training she had a total of like 300 hours maximum and I think it was a lot less then that and I don't know who she slept with as she went thru all the stages and is now on the 747, oh, she did not have her ME rating! ---
No shit, are u kidding me?? Less than 300 hours and no ME rating, and got to fly 747 to LY???? Wow, that impressive!! I wish I was a woman :)) Well, I just started instrument, about 80 hours total time, beggining of the road. Also a B. Sc. in Aerospace Engineering, who knows if it might help, and yes I also want to have my office in the sky. By the way how old is the girl in your class? Sorry if was skeptic in the other responses, i might have been a misunderstanding. Well, I am prepared to go the hard way, I don't think I have a lot of choice if that's what I wanna do... I also gave up a lot, but that's the way we pilots have to go, isn't it? I wish things were easier, but I would take you and the girl as an inspiration to go on the way. If you could reference me later for an LY interview, I would really appreciate! :) (hope i won't have to sleep with anyone hehe)
